  A Disabled pensioner who had his car windows smashed by police after being pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt is launching a lawsuit against force chiefs. Stroke victim Robert Whatley, 70, yesterday said he was making the claim of up to £100000 for post traumatic stress following an incident that saw two officers repeatedly strike and kick his Range Rover. As reported exclusively in Thursday's Western Mail, Mr Whatley was pulled over after driving off without wearing a seat belt and being pursued by a police car along country roads between Cwmbran and Usk. Police video footage of the incident shows one officer smashing his driver's window 15 times with an "asp" baton and another leaping onto the bonnet and kicking his windscreen. Mr Whatley says he was showered with broken glass and claims he suffered cuts to his chest as he sat in the driver's seat before he was pulled out of the 4x4. Yesterday he said he was so shocked by the incident that he still has vivid flashbacks 10 months later.
