What’s the Deal With One-Deal-a-Day Sites?
One-deal-a-day sites are popular because they often offer rock-bottom prices on a variety of products, but in a fun “buy it before it sells” environment. Not to be confused with the deal-of-a-day bargains found on many retailers’ websites, one-deal-a-day sites only offer one product, for one day, or until it sells out. Read more…...

The term Cyber Monday refers to the Monday immediately following Black Friday and it is the official kick-off of the holiday online shopping season. With an expected increase of 11.5 percent more shoppers bargain hunting today compared to last year, more online stores are offering one-day deals and coupon offers. So how do you know if you are getting...
Free Shipping – Deal or No Deal?
Free Shipping – Deal or No Deal?
According to USA Today, shoppers have switched their thinking about receiving free shipping for their online purchases. With money being as tight as it is, shoppers now figure that free shipping is not a deal really, but rather a mandatory service in exchange for their business. And, the free shipping expectation includes a “no strings attached”...

Is Anyone Buying This Free Deal?
I’ve noticed over the last week or two a new type of deal cropping up: the Free Thanksgiving Dinner Deal, otherwise known as the “Holiday Rewards“ deal. A number of supermarket chains have hit on the idea that a “Spend $XXX dollars and get a free turkey dinner” deal will be a sure fire winner this November. They know from long experience...
Deal or No Deal?
Sometimes grocery stores and supermarkets run ‘supersaver’ specials that look great on the surface. But, dig into the details, and they may not be a deal at all. A particularly instructive example of this came to my attention a couple of weeks ago. SuperFresh began advertising a “ Save XX% off on your next order (ONYO) ” deal that you definitely...

I think largely that people are happy with the deals that they get through Restaurant.com .  I’ve used the service, and I’ve been quite happy as well.  But to avoid any misunderstandings this time around, I’ll play the skeptic...
